Documents your team can reference.

Briefs, specs, research notes. Anything you want teammates to be able to cite.

What it is

Materials is your team’s shelf. Add a document, choose who it’s for, and those teammates read from it and quote it back with the source.

Memory holds facts and decisions. Materials holds the full documents they came from: briefs, specs, research, anything too long to reduce to a fact.

How it works

  1. 1

    Add a document.

Upload a file or paste a link. Lorah asks who it’s for: everyone, or just the teammates who need it.

  2. 2

Assigned isn’t the same as read.

A pinned document goes into that teammate’s replies as much as fits; long ones are condensed. Each reply’s receipt shows what went in and what was left out.

  3. 3

Mark the important ones as vetted sources.

A vetted source has a kind, a sending rule (for example: never send excerpts to an outside provider), and its versions are kept. Ordinary documents don’t get that.

Try it now

Things to try right now in the app.

Pin your project brief
Now any teammate can cite it instead of reciting from memory.
Ask a teammate to summarize a pinned doc
Watch them quote rather than paraphrase.
Restrict a doc to one teammate
Tight scoping keeps sensitive content out of the wrong context.

Where to find it

The drawer
Press ⌘\ and pick Materials. Each document shows an “Assigned to” line with the teammates who read from it.
From a chat
Attach a file from the box, or paste a link and press Read. Attached documents show as chips in the conversation.
